Looking for a Love Local Hero

Nominations are now open for SBHG's #LoveLocalHero Award 2016, giving residents and west Londoners the opportunity to nominate their local community hero.

Love Local Hero, part of SBHG's Love Local campaign, is being run with Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre and Ealing Council. The award is a new community honour bestowed by SBHG.

The award is open to people who live or work in west London and recognises the extraordinary impact people have in their local community through their commitment, dedication and effort.

Russell Caller, chair of SBHA board said: “These awards are the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate the unsung heroes of our west London community. It recognises those who make a real difference to the community and the community a better place for everyone. It only a takes a couple of minutes to nominate and I would encourage anyone who may know a local hero to put them forward for this worthy award."

Catherine Perez Phillips, volunteer services manager, Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre said: “It’s brilliant that Shepherds Bush Housing Group is putting on this award to champion those who make important contributions to our local communities. These heroes deserve recognition for making our communities even more special.”

Councillor Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “The Local Heroes Award is all about honouring those individuals who are either from west London, or have strong links to the area; and who make our community what it is. They are also a tribute to the people who make Ealing a wonderful place to live and work. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to nominate their local community hero.”
