East London landlord, THCH, helped over 400 local residents living in Bethnal Green celebrate Eid on Wednesday, 27 July with a full and fun-packed afternoon at a Fun Day held at the organisation's Minerva Community Centre.

The fun day is held annually by THCH and is amongst the largest resident event of the year.

Guests at this years' fun day were able to browse a wide range of stalls including organisations such as:

  • Cancer Research UK
  • Asian People's Disability Alliance
  • Exhibition Islam's Ramadan Display
  • Osmani Trust's Health Trainers
  • Toynbee Hall Advice
  • Tower Hamlets Council's Recycling Team
  • Newark Youth London

As well as the information stalls, there were also a number selling homemade clothing and bags and homemade cakes as well as henna and face-painters who were kept busy all afternoon.

Entertainment was provided by Taal Torongo's Bollywood & Traditional Bengali Dance Group plus a couple of children's art workshops run by Shamim Azad's BSK Group and local street artist, ItsArtista, brought out the creative side in people.

The more energetic were able to take part in mini tennis or the Rollapaluza's static bike challenge.

Three groups who provide services from a THCH community centre (Shadow Youth Alliance, Our Variety Club and Mohila Ongon Women's Group) served food throughout the day raising funds for their groups.
