PlaceShapers - the place to learn, share and be inspired by all aspects of place-shaping.
We're a vibrant, diverse national network of place-shaping housing organisations, ranging from small housing associations with less than 1,000 homes to large housing associations with over 100,000 homes.
We welcome applications from organisations who can demonstrate their long-term commitment to the places and communities where they operate and a commitment to learn.
Run by members for members, our three-year strategic plan sets out how we are achieving our vision of putting place-shaping at the heart of decision-making.
Our members sign up to five principles with all membership applications assessed by our board of nine member chief executives:
1. Our residents and customers are at the heart of what we do and have genuine impact on our organisations.
2. We listen and provide more than just landlord services because we care about people and places.
3. We build homes that respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
4. We work collaboratively and actively with our local authorities and other local partners because it enables us to improve and shape places.
5. We are committed to a diverse, values-driven housing association sector.
There is a modest subscription to cover costs, which is proportionate to the size of your organisation.
Our fee structure for 2025/26
- Less than 1,000 homes - £586.50
- Between 1,000 and 5,000 homes - £2,346
- Between 5,000 and 10,000 homes - £ 3,519
- Between 10,000 and 20,000 homes - £4,692
- Over 20,000 homes - £5,865
