Study visit to whg
30 September 2026 11:00 - 15:00
Join us on a study visit to whg in the West Midlands to see first-hand their resident centred approach to regenerating homes and supporting communities.
whg are a proud champion of their places and communities. They work with partners to secure future prosperity through regeneration, place shaping, community investment and improving wellbeing.
They have a unique social justice strategy, aimed at transforming lives, a clear focus on sustainable futures, and an ambitious approach to development and regeneration that will ensure they play their part in tackling the housing shortage. Join us on this study visit to meet the whg team, hear more about their work and see their regeneration in action.
All courtesy of whg, the visit has been designed so you:
- Find out more about their Development and Regeneration Strategy, including how they will build thriving places and deliver Net Zero Carbon ready homes.
- See first-hand the extensive and ambitious regeneration of the Royal Quarter and Nightingale House in Wolverhampton.
- Take away transferrable learning on how they’ve approached the regeneration of a heritage building, converting it into homes meeting low-emission standards while preserving the building’s historic character.
- Are inspired by the £115 million transformation of Goscote, which has delivered 992 new homes and improved 46 acres of open space, creating a thriving multi-generational community in North Walsall.
- Learn about their commitment to addressing economic and social inequalities and how this has led to their Social Justice Strategy.
- Network with other PlaceShapers members and create connections for future learning.
If you are interested in community development, employment and skills, economic or social regeneration, or just want to learn more about a brilliant place-shaping organisation, then this day is for you. You will be well looked after on the day, including lunch and transport to and from the nearest station to the visit.
