As part of our focus on social place-shaping, join us to learn more about how MSV act a community anchor in challenging times.
MSV are a truly unique and community-focussed organisation operating across Manchester and provide homes, services and support so their residents and communities can flourish.
Their community hubs are a space where residents, partners and neighbours can connect and learn from each other. They also specialise in providing a safe and secure home for many marginalised people; for example, Foyers for young people in Manchester and Blackburn, schemes for care leavers, Later Living schemes for the Over 55's and HAPPi schemes designed specifically for older people, supported housing for those with specific circumstances, and specialist housing for homeless and rough sleepers.
All courtesy of MSV, the visit, hosted at their Positive Futures hub in Manchester, has been designed so you:
- Take away transferrable learning on their approach to supporting their communities in challenging times.
- Hear about their work to help customers and local residents gain new skills, improve wellbeing, and move closer to work.
- See first-hand their brilliant community hubs and the skills development, wellbeing activities, and environmental projects they offer designed to create opportunity, confidence, and community connections.
- Visit their regeneration work in Moss Side to see how they are transforming the community in partnership with residents.
- Learn about their innovative Community Mentor programme and the impact this is having on local residents.
- Are inspired by their approach to supporting and working with marginalised communities.
- Network with other PlaceShapers members and create connections for future learning.
If you are interested in community development, employment and skills, economic or social regeneration, or just want to learn more about a brilliant place-shaping organisation, then this day is for you. You will be well looked after on the day, including lunch and transport to and from the nearest station to the visit.
