Wednesday 8 October, 11am-3pm.
Poplar HARCA, 155 East India Dock Road, London E14 6DA.
As part of our focus on social place-shaping, join us to learn more about the work of Poplar HARCA, in East London, on community regeneration and their transformational reshaping plan for Poplar and Bow to create a place where people, communities and businesses can grow and thrive.
Poplar HARCA operates a hyper-local, place-based model rooted in resident empowerment, regeneration, and partnership working. They have a strong focus on resident leadership and integrated services, including health, employment, and youth work.
All courtesy of Poplar HARCA, the visit has been designed so you:
- Take away transferrable learning on their internationally recognised approach to community empowerment.
- Hear about their work to improve health and wellbeing in their communities.
- See first-hand their state-of-the-art creative spaces for young people and affordable work spaces for the community.
- Understand how they work with partners and community and faith groups to ensure what they do reflects the needs of their communities.
- Are inspired by the regeneration work they have done to transform their corner of East London, including through building new homes, education, healthcare and faith buildings, business and community spaces.
- Network with other PlaceShapers members and create connections for future learning.
