Learning Programme

Throughout 2025/26 we are sharing insight in a Year of Learning programme. This is made of study visits, webinars, case studies, and new resources across our three place-shaping themes:

  • Physical – building homes that meet need, regeneration, improving the environment.
  • Social – supporting communities to be healthy, connected and resilient.
  • Economic – supporting communities in poverty and to access economic opportunities.

Our Place-shaping Learning Hub contains stories, case studies, blogs and practical advice across our themes of physical, social and economic place-shaping, collected during our Year of Learning.

Our Sustainability Library contains expertise, best practice and inspiration from members and external resources to you in your approach to sustainability.

Our Communications Library is packed contains resources on topical issues, such as best practice in rent communications, communicating with residents on energy efficiency work and damp and mould

Member networks

Our Sustainability Network provides support and inspiration to help you develop your approach to sustainability, focusing on their role in place.

The Chairs' Network is a unique space to be inspired and supported by peers and hear from influential speakers on interesting and topical issues.

The Communications Network comes together to communicate the unique role of place-shaping housing associations and connects communications teams on place-shaping issues via a network of co-ordinators.

The Development Network facilitates conversations between peers and experts on developing and regenerating homes that help create thriving communities and shares insight to inform the influencing work of PlaceShapers.

The Public Affairs Advisory Group discusses the big issues facing the social housing sector, both now and in the future, helps shape our responses to consultations and policy announcements and informs our approach to stakeholder and political engagement.

Events

Our events support you and your colleagues in your place-shaping role. We hold events virtually as well as in-person so as many people as possible can join from member organisations.

  • Annual Conference - held virtually each November, over two days with 14 sessions attracting more than 300 members.
  • Leaders Events - a peer-led safe space where chairs can explore any current and topical issues they may face.
  • Webinars - regular meetings on topical issues. 
  • Study visits - a popular part of our Year of Learning.
