Sentinel make The Sunday Times top 100

We’re excited to announce that Sentinel Housing Association has achieved Best Companies 1 Star Accreditation status and has been named as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Not for Profit Organisations to Work For 2016.

The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For is the annual ranking of Britain's happiest and most motivated workforces. And its yearly publication is a highly anticipated event in the business calendar.

The Sunday Times newspaper launched its annual lists of the best companies to work for in the UK in 2001. There are 4 lists:

  • The 100 Best Companies to Work For are firms in the 250-3,500 employee range
  • The 25 Best Big Companies to Work For each have 3,500-plus in the workforce
  • The 100 Best Small Companies to Work For  is for SMEs with 50 to 250 staff
  • The 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to Work For recognises public-sector bodies, charities and housing associations.

The lists are widely acknowledged as the most extensive research into employee engagement carried out in the country. And all the scores and ratings used to compile the lists are based on employee opinions.

Cathryn Gee, Sentinel’s Head of Organisational Development, said, “We’re delighted to be included in the list of The Sunday Times 100 Best Not for Profit Organisations to Work For 2016. Last year we were awarded “Ones to Watch” status. So we implemented some staff suggestions that have elevated us to a 1 Star accredited organisation. We truly value our staff and do all we can to regularly measure, recognise and improve employee engagement levels. This accreditation adds to our Investors in People Gold, awarded last March, and demonstrates that our people enjoy coming to work which helps them do a great job. I’m very proud of this achievement and of our fantastic team of staff who’ve helped make it happen.”

Sentinel’s actual position on The Sunday Times 100 Best Not for Profit Organisations to Work For 2016 list will be revealed on the evening of Wednesday 24 February.
