Return of Summer Fayre brings sun and fun to North Devon Homes’ customers
Customers of North Devon Homes enjoyed a fun filled day in the sun as the popular annual Summer Fayre returned after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
The free event saw customers of all ages, along with their friends and families, taking part in activities including archery, bingo and enjoying many traditional fayre activities like bouncy castles and face painting. They were entertained throughout the day by The Voice FM whilst also enjoying a free hot meal. The fun day took place in the new location at Petroc, Barnstaple with all North Devon Homes staff taking part and being available to their customers.
Chief Executive, Martyn Gimber, led the festivities and said “What a fantastic day we’ve all had. After having to postpone our Summer Fayre for the past two years, today has been a long-awaited and brilliant chance to bring everyone together again. As a community landlord, our customers are important to us, and the Fayre gives us the chance to all be together in this relaxed environment. The day has been all about giving our customers a day of fun and games, of which there have been many. It’s been wonderful for us to be with our customers, old and new.”
“We strive to create communities where people want to live,’ adds Head of Neighbourhoods, Marc Rostock. “We can’t do this without our customer’s input and that’s why this event is so important to us to all of us at Team NDH. Thanks to the fantastic planning of our Events Team, we created a perfect opportunity for us to talk to our customers in this informal setting about what matters to them, whilst joining in the fun. It’s been an absolute delight to all be together in our new location this year and we’re already looking forward to next year’s Summer Fayre as the planning begins!”
Alongside the festivities there were plenty of exhibitors at the Fayre offering advice, information and services including recruitment, education, financial advice and protecting the planet. North Devon Homes ran a competition for their exhibitors with Tozers LLP winning the award for Best for Entertainment, Bowden’s Cleaning Services winning the Most Informative Exhibitor, Next Steps Development were named Most Eco Friendly and Petroc won the accolade for Best in Show. North Devon Homes’ Community Services Team were awarded the best Team NDH stall and an honourable mention went to the Income Team for their Panning for Gold and Western Theme stall.
Emma Elston, Lead for Events and Marketing, was delighted to see so many customers attending and joining in with the free activities. “We are so grateful to our headline sponsors for supporting our Summer Fayre,’ Emma added. “Without the support of Jed Mason Plumbing, James Electrics and Aico, as well as over 25 other contributions from local partners and businesses, none of this would have been possible.”
1 in 10 people across North Devon live in a North Devon Homes’ home. Every customer was invited to attend the free Summer Fayre and to bring along their friends and family.
