Glad you clicked through but you’ll need to come back on Wednesday 29 June to find out about We Work. Trust us, there’s going to be some amazing stories showing how PlaceShapers up and down the country change people’s lives...
Placeshaper's response to the statutory consultation on a revised regulatory framework for social housing welcomes the Government's endorsement of a co-regulatory approach and the lighter-touch outcomes based focus to regulatory engagement.
It comments that this approach rightly puts the responsibility for meeting regulatory standards very firmly on individual governing.
However, it highlights some issues relating to how the standards will operate in practice and the extent to which, in some places, the text as currently drafted perpetuates a prescriptive process-led rather than outcome-focused approach.
The response gives comments on issues of particular importance to the membership as a whole. Many PlaceShapers will also submit individual returns and that these may include more detailed comments on the perceived implications of the revised standards at a local level.
