Plans submitted for Westcliff precinct

The plans included development drawings of shops, including a brand new Community Hub space, and pre-school nursery facility. 41 surrounding new homes with a mix of 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom houses plus 2 bedroom bungalows were also included in the plans.

We have been working on the regeneration plans together with North Lincolnshire Council, and if approved, works are set to begin in April 2016.

Consultation events with tenants, residents, Ongo staff, the Westcliff Regeneration Board, North Lincolnshire Council and other key stakeholders have helped to form the plans, which are hoped to boost the area.

Our North Lincolnshire Homes Board has agreed to invest over £6 million into the overall project, including the new shops, new enterprise hub, new pre-school nursery and the 50 new homes.

This, together with funding of £1.25million from the Homes and Communities Agency and further funding from North Lincolnshire Council and the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), shows the scale of the investment in this key regeneration project.

Martin Phillips, Development Manager here at Ongo commented: “We’re really pleased with the plans and thank everybody for their feedback; it’s been really useful to help us to gather ideas or concerns.”

Cllr Liz Redfern, leader, North Lincolnshire Council, said: “These are long-term plans that will improve the area for the better and quality of life for residents. I am pleased that the plans are progressing well. This is a major development – working with Ongo and other key partners – that will create job and training opportunities for local people and help them develop as individuals. It will give Westcliff the confidence it needs to grow and prosper. This isn’t just a one-off investment but a long-term vision that will ultimately create some fantastic opportunities for residents.”
