‘Engaging with social housing residents on the UK’s journey to net zero carbon’

We know that for many of our you, sustainability, and the net-zero carbon agenda is the biggest issue that you face as housing providers. At PlaceShapers we have been considering what the drive towards sustainability in the housing sector means for our residents and their communities.

Earlier this year we held a series of roundtable sessions with social housing professionals and residents to discuss how we can reach net-zero carbon by 2050.

The attached report, ‘Engaging with social housing residents on the UK’s journey to net zero carbon’ is based on the discussion and insights from those meetings.

The report highlights the key themes of the roundtables and makes recommendations to both Government and social landlords on working with residents and communities in the journey to net-zero carbon.

This is just the start of our work to ensure resident voices are at the heart of the UK’s journey to net-zero carbon. As you will see in the report, we see communication and sharing best practice as key to achieving our collective environmental goal. We are holding a member event on Monday 19th April at 12 noon to discuss the report and next steps.
