Our first homes for Key Workers are complete. The ten new homes are part of a Miller Homes development in Jacquard Court, Hunslet.
With the average UK monthly rent (excluding London) reaching £762, keyworkers can often struggle to find an affordable home. Many Key Workers such as Police and those in the Fire Service often need to live within a certain distance of their place of work which can make finding a home more difficult.
The new Leeds Federated properties are available for intermediate rent which is around 80% of the going market rate.
"We're delighted to have completed our first keyworker properties," said Leeds Fed's Head of Assets and Development Stephen Ellis. "There is a national housing shortage and there is a need for more homes for affordable and social rent, and shared ownership properties to help people get on the housing ladder. Leeds Federated plans to build many more homes to help meet this need across Leeds."
