PlaceShapers Fringe at Local Government Association Conference
PlaceShapers is running its first ever Fringe event at the LGA Conference on Wednesday 3 July. It will show how PlaceShapers work in partnership with local authorities to create more than homes.
The event is called 'Collaboration or competition? How Councils and Housing Associations can work in partnership to deliver the homes we need?' It runs from 6 – 7pm at the BIC in Bournemouth, Tregonwell Hall Seminar Suites.
With the lifting of the HRA cap housing associations and local authorities have a fantastic opportunity to work together, rather than in competition, to build the homes we need.
This Fringe will profile where local authorities are already working in effective partnerships with local housing associations to build new homes and deliver community initiatives. Speakers will discuss their experiences of working together followed by a debate on the opportunities and challenges of making such partnerships work.
Jane Toman, CEO of Blaby District Council and Chan Kataria, CEO East Midlands Homes Group
Paul Smith, Bristol City Council’s Cabinet Housing Lead and United Communities CEO Oona Goldsworthy.
The event will be chaired by Sinéad Butters, PlaceShapers Chair and CEO of Aspire Housing.
