Grand Union continuing to deliver new homes

Local housing provider, Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG), has shown its commitment to ending the housing crisis by continuing to provide desperately needed local housing.

This year alone, GUHG has seen delivery of 164 new homes in the region, which is a 15% rise on last year and takes the total homes built since their formation in 2008 to well over 1,000.

All of this comes amid calls from the Government for housing associations to provide more homes in the UK.

Dave Lakin, Head of New Business and Development at GUHG, said: “Year on year our Development Team has worked hard to build much needed homes in the areas that we operate.”

“Rural delivery continues to be a focus for the Group and is one of our core strengths and areas of expertise. Over the coming years we are well placed to increase these numbers and build even more homes for local people.”

Of the 164 homes built by the Group this year, 54% were for affordable rent, 26% shared ownership, 10% supported housing and the rest was made up of market rent and target rent.

GUHG is leading a consortium which accesses Government funding to delivery another 386 affordable homes .
