The National Housing Federation's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Housing conference on Thursday 9th December gave the the results from the first national picture of the diversity in housing. PlaceShapers attended the conference.
Matthew Walker, chair of PlaceShapers, said:
"Many of our members have used EDI tool to help them better understand their communities, and how their workforces compare to them. This report is a wake up call for us all to do more to build truly representative, diverse and inclusive organisations.
"Our Diverse Voices series has focused on bringing the experiences of staff and residents to the fore, and challenging us on our organisational cultures.
"But we know there is more we can and must all do to build diverse workforces to reflect and help further strengthen the inclusive, thriving communities we work in."
