Ambitious plan will boost services and build new homes
The organisation has published ‘Inspiring Futures’ – a blueprint to improve futures does and provide new homes for sale, rent and shared ownership.
Inspiring Futures also sets out how Futures will boost the local economy by helping people get the training they need to do the jobs they want thanks to Futures' further education company, Access Training.
The corporate plan also explains Futures':
- plans to build more than 1,000 new homes throughout the East Midlands;
- appetite to grow as a business;
- desire to forge new partnerships and work in different markets;
- drive to provide effortless experiences for its customers and;
- intention to maintain its outstanding performance and financial stability.
Lindsey Williams, Chief Executive of Futures Housing Group, said: “A major part of our vision is to make it as effortless as possible for customers to do business with us and build more than 1,000 homes by 2020.
“We have an ambition to provide a greater choice of homes to customers, so they can choose affordable housing, private rentals, shared ownership or can buy with us.
“Inspiring Futures is a corporate plan which builds on our strong financial foundations and clearly demonstrates how we intend to improve, provide value for money services and offer more choice to customers.”
The new plan was launched just weeks after both Futures and Access Training, which enrolled more than 1,150 people on training courses last year, received glowing reports from two separate Government agencies.
First, Access retained its Good rating from the education inspector, Ofsted, in February.
Then in March the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), the Government agency which regulates housing providers, gave Futures the highest possible rating for Governance and Viablilty.
HCA inspectors scrutinised Futures’ plans, finances and structure and said the company scored the highest possible marks for leadership, organisation, structure, finance and the way it manages risks.
Lindsey added: “It is a really exciting time for Futures. The new plan makes our ambitions really clear, we have a fantastic rating from the HCA and our further education company retained its Good rating from Ofsted.
“It puts us in a great position to launch our new plan and help make Futures one of the best companies in the region to work for and do business with whether you are a customer or a partner.”
